SUMMARY:Open House Extravaganza!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening on the Erie Canal with our Inclusion Partner\, Erie Canal Boat Company! \nExplore options for inclusive kayaking and cycling along the Erie Canal! \nWhat to know: Erie Canal Boat Company has been working with RAA for over 8 years – instilling a culture of inclusion across their day to day operations! What this means: \n1. Adaptive and standard equipment are available 7 days a week!\n2. An adaptive kayak launch helps make entering and exiting the kayak even easier.\n3. A variety of styles of cycles are available – handcycles\, three-wheeled cycles\, tandems and more.\n4. Kayaking equipment like outriggers\, supportive seatbacks\, paddle pedestals add stability and support for more people \nThis Extravaganza event will introduce you and your family to kayaking and cycling options. You will have time to try out the cycles and take a quick paddle to see how the equipment works. We encourage family/friend groups to come together so you can LEARN together — and then come back TOGETHER throughout the summer! \nGreat for people generally ~6 years and up – equipment varies in size. While most cycles are youth-adult sizes\, we can show families other options that might work for their child. This event is designed for you to come see what is here and give it a try\, and also learn about more options! \nThis is not a ‘program’ – this is a way of inclusive business! This equipment is available daily throughout the season!\nECBC is open 7 days a week\, 10AM – 8PM during the high season! \nMany thanks to our Event Sponsor: NY Outdoors Unlimited! Meet them at the Extravaganza! \nHave questions?\nContact us: RAA@RochesterAccessibleAdventures.org\, 585-491-6011\nContact Peter\, owner\, ECBC: 585-748-2628

SUMMARY:Sled Hockey Try It Clinics
DESCRIPTION:It’s time for Sled Hockey! \nJoin us for these family-friendly\, fun events where EVERYONE gets to try sled hockey! Whether it is your first time or 30th time\, we love to have everyone here! \nDates: Nov 11\, 12:00-1:00 and Jan 20\, Feb 17\, Mar 16th at 1:45-2:45 \nLocation: Genesee Valley Sports Complex\, 131 Elmwood Ave \nFREE! \nSled hockey is an exciting game where everyone plays using a sled that is on blades similar to skate blades. The bucket seat provides some side and back support for players as they learn to propel themselves on the ice. Players use two hockey sticks which have an ice pick on one end to grip the ice as they move around\, and the stick is flipped over to use the flat side to hit the puck. \nSome sleds have an adaptive attachment that allows a standup skater to push the players\, which is great for players with limited upper-body mobility and/or strength. \nThe game itself is very similar to standup hockey — a goalie for each team keeps the puck from entering the goal area; two teams rally to score the most goals during a game. Players learn defense and offense moves as they gain skills. \nTry It Clinics focus mainly on introducing potential players to the equipment\, learning basic skills of how to propel themselves and slap pucks around. As participants gain skills and confidence\, they may easily transition to sled hockey team programs! \nWe encourage family\, siblings\, and friends to attend Try It Clinics together and learn about this game! We have many people with and without disabilities who have discovered the joy of this game and have learned to play alongside each other! \nSave time at the clinic – pre-register here! \nMany thanks to the City of Rochester DRHS for sponsoring and supporting these Try It Clinics! \nHave questions? Give us a call at 585-491-6011 or email us at RAA@RochesterAccessibleAdventures.org. \nSee you on the ice!

SUMMARY:Sled Hockey Try It Clinic
DESCRIPTION:It’s time for Sled Hockey! \nJoin us for these family-friendly\, fun events where EVERYONE gets to try sled hockey! Whether it is your first time or 30th time\, we love to have everyone here! \nDates: Jan 20\, Feb 17\, Mar 16th at 1:45-2:45 \nLocation: Genesee Valley Sports Complex\, 131 Elmwood Ave \nFREE! \nREGISTER HERE!\nMany thanks to the City of Rochester DRHS for sponsoring and supporting these Try It Clinics! \nHave questions? Give us a call at 585-491-6011 or email us at RAA@RochesterAccessibleAdventures.org. \nSee you on the ice!
