SUMMARY:Stony Point Art Studio Grand Opening!
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event at our Inclusion Partner\, Stony Point Art Studio at their newest location in Fairport\, NY! \nRochester Accessible Adventures is happy to be partnering with NYPA and the NYS Canal Corporation for the Accessibility Education Program — which is expanding the inclusion of people with disabilities across NYS’s On the Canals programs. \nOne of our Inclusion Partners with this program is Stony Point Art Studio\, and on January 10th\, we will be celebrating their opening at their newest location in Fairport NY. As you will see\, the interior of this new studio has been intentionally designed for inclusion of people with disabilities in all art programming. We are thrilled to watch Jeannine’s plans roll out as she moves towards fully inclusive creative arts programming along the Erie Canalway! \nPlease review the invitation below from Stony Point Art Studio owner\, Jeannine Pelusio! We hope you can attend and help us spread the word about inclusive creative arts! \nHere is an excerpt from the Media Release sent out by Stony Point Art Studio: \n** Ribbon Cutting for Stony Point Art Studio Expansion to Fairport\, New York on Friday\, January 10th ** \n* A New Art Space and Village Art Gallery for Creativity\, Inclusivity and Community* \nStony Point Art Studio is hosting a ribbon cutting on Friday\, January 10\, 2025\, at 12:00 pm at 114 N. Main Street Fairport. Local representatives from Rochester Accessible Adventures\, the New York Power Authority (NYPA)\, NYS Canal Corporation\, and the Village of Fairport will attend. \nStony Point Art Studio is a part of the NYPA & Canal Corporation’s On the Canals Accessibility Education Program which kicked off this past summer. Stony Point Art Studio’s On the Canals programming is part of the intentional shift to ensuring more equitable access to recreation along the New York State Canal system. This new\, fully accessible space in the Village of Fairport continues the mission of providing expanded opportunities for people of all abilities in our local community. \nThe community is invited to join us from 12:00-3:00 pm to tour the exciting and accessible studio space\, view a display of student artists’ work\, and enjoy refreshments. \nStony Point Art Studio is a thriving women-owned business known for its dedication to fostering inclusive creativity as a participant in the On the Canals Accessibility Education Program sponsored by NYPA and the Canal Corporation \nThis new location at 114 N. Main Street in Fairport will serve as a vibrant hub for artistic expression\, offering a variety of classes tailored for children\, adults\, and homeschoolers. In addition\, it is a gallery space for local artists to showcase their work\, providing a platform to share their talents with the community. The gallery will host regular local artist exhibits\, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant arts scene of the surrounding areas. \nThe new studio aims to create an inclusive and accessible environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can discover their artistic talents and participate in the arts with a focus on community engagement. Stony Point Art Studio will offer a variety of classes that accommodate various learning styles and abilities\, reinforcing the belief that creativity knows no limits. \n“The studio’s vision is that art can be accessible to all\, and we are committed to breaking down barriers that prevent people from exploring their artistic side\,” said Jeannine Pelusio of Stony Point Art Studio. “Our goal is to cultivate a welcoming environment where creativity flourishes\, and everyone feels inspired to learn\, create\, and connect. While also offering a flexible space that is accessible and accommodating.” \nStony Point Art Studio is an Inclusion Partner with Rochester Accessible Adventures and a provider of NYPA and the Canal Corporation’s On the Canals programming. \nFor more information about this expansion or upcoming classes and workshops – \n**Contact: \nJeannine Pelusio \nOwner\, Stony Point Art Studio \nEmail: stonypointartstudio@gmail.com \nWebsite: www.stonypointartstudio.com

SUMMARY:Inclusion Partner: 2025 First Day Cocoa + Critter Stroll
DESCRIPTION:INCLUSION PARTNER:  Genesee Land Trust \nJoin Genesee Land Trust for a 2025 First Day Cocoa + Critter Stroll!  \nEvent Description: \nGenesee Land Trust invites people of all ages and abilities for a special cocoa toast to celebrate the return of the fisher to Brookdale Preserve. The fisher – a very important member of the forest – was once hunted nearly to extinction for its thick dark fur. But now\, thanks to decades of conservation\, we’re finally starting to see the fisher again. \nStart your new year with this fun-for-everyone stroll to look for signs of the fisher and learn more about this special tree-climbing critter\, like why it’s sometimes called a “fisher cat” when it doesn’t eat much fish and isn’t a cat at all! \nGenesee Land Trust will provide warm drinks and light snacks – please bring a mug. We will also be collecting nonperishable items for the state’s food drive. \nFind more details about the trail\, parking\, ADA porta john\, and other accessibility information on their event page: 2025 First Day Cocoa + Critter Stroll — Genesee Land Trust \nGenesee Land Trust’s inclusion point of contact is Elliotte Bowerman at ebowerman@geneseelandtrust.org or 585.256.2130. They are happy to answer any questions. \nAn ASL interpreter will be at the interactive fisher info station!
