DESCRIPTION:Wheelchair Tennis Clinic!\nIt’s Spring and there’s nothing like the sound of tennis in the air! \nJoin in the fun at our Tennis Clinics this Spring and Summer! \nClinics:  \nApril 25\, 3:00-4:30 \nJune 20\, 3:00-4:30 \nNever played before? This is for you! \nWant to refresh your skills? This is for you! \nClinics are held in collaboration with Perinton Recreation & Parks at Perinton Park tennis courts\, 99 O’Connor Rd\, Fairport NY 14450. \nCoach Avi will lead the clinics and connect you with the skills and drills to keep you on the courts this summer. \nSports chairs will be provided by RAA; Volunteers will assist during sessions. Players are encouraged to sign up with a friend to learn to play standup/seated play so you can play all summer long. You will learn skills and gain competence for signing up with Coach Avi’s summer Tennis 101 classes and play with your peers. \nRegistration Required! Click here for our Registration Form.\n\nFAQs:\nWill sports chairs be provided during clinics?\nYes. Please indicate that you will need one on the registration form. \nDo I need to already know how to play tennis?\nNo. Coach Avi will teach you introductory skills. \nCan I sign up with a friend who doesn’t use a wheelchair?\nYes. They can learn to play in a chair or play standing up across from you. \nIs there a fee for registration?\nNo\, wonderfully\, USTA has provided RAA with grant funding to support the costs of this event. We are grateful to be able to set this up with their support! \nWhat can I do after the clinic to keep practicing?\nGreat question! You can go ahead and sign up for Coach Avi’s summer classes through Perinton Recreation and Parks registration. They are expecting you! PR & P has a scholarship application process if financial support is needed.  You can also plan to go to your local tennis court all summer long and play with a friend or family member — you will have basic skills to keep practicing! \nDo I have to take this clinic before signing up for Tennis 101 with Coach Avi through Perinton Rec?\nNo\, you do not! You can go ahead and sign up for Coach Avi’s classes through Perinton Rec through their catalog. Spring classes on page 28 \nWhat’s a Red Ball Social and why should I attend?\nThe Wheelchair Tennis & Red Ball Social is open to everyone! Beginner or experienced wheelchair athletes\, friends and family can all play together at this fun-filled event. With the USTA’s Red Ball play\, everyone gets a racquet in their hand and begins playing within minutes! The first doubles team to four games wins\, with games being only four points! Get directly connected with our Inclusion Partners — businesses that are ready for YOU! \nWhen: Saturday and Sunday June 27 and 28\, 11:00-2:00 both days \nWhere: Erie Canal Boat Company\, 7 Liftbridge Lane West\, Fairport\, NY 14450 \nFREE! \nSave time at the event: Go ahead and Pre-Register!  \nOn event day\, when you come to the check-in booth\, we will already have your registration info and you can just get started! \nWhat to Expect: \n\nParking. There is Public Parking off of Main Street. Follow signs for Public Parking (behind Rikki’s and Shorts). If that lot fills\, you can use street parking on Main\, or use the Public Parking areas across the street on Liftbridge Lane East\, near Donnelly’s and also behind the Box Factory (Fairport Junction).\nRegistration. The event is held at Erie Canal Boat Company. You will see a red shed and our Registration Tent will be near that. If you have pre-registered\, look for that Express Lane.\nEvent. Once you have completed registration\, you will have opportunities for Kayaking\, Cycling\, and perusing the Community Resources tables. Stony Point Art Studio and Gallery will have an art project activity. Guests can participate in a Scavenger Hunt that helps you make the most of your visit! Those trying out kayaking and cycling will be able to see the variety of equipment options and try out any that are of interest. You will paddle or cycle out a little ways and return back to home base.
