Youth Sled Hockey!

Youth Sled Hockey: Grab a Stick. Slide onto a Sled. Hit the Ice! 🏒

The Rochester Sled Hawks are kicking off their 2026–27 Youth Season, and we want YOU on the ice! Whether you’ve played hockey before or have never held a stick, this is your chance to try one of the fastest, most exciting sports on ice. And it’s completely free!

What is sled hockey?
Sled hockey is ice hockey played sitting down. Players sit on a sled with two skate blades underneath and carry two short sticks. One end of each stick has metal picks to push yourself across the ice, and the other end is a blade for passing and shooting. It follows the same rules as stand-up hockey and is played with the same speed and intensity once you get used to it. It’s also a Paralympic sport, so the skills you learn here are the same ones top athletes use on the world stage!

What you’ll do
You’ll learn the basics, build your skills with fun drills, and jump into games with other players your age. Beginners are welcome, and all equipment is provided. Just bring your energy!
