Adaptive & Inclusive Sports Coordinator

Join our dynamic team at Rochester Accessible Adventures, where we are making inclusion happen! We’re looking for a highly motivated person ready to lead the Greater Rochester community to new heights in its adaptive and inclusive sports offerings.

Role Description:

As our Adaptive and Inclusive Sports Coordinator, you will lead the expansion of sports opportunities in the Greater Rochester region, maintain excellence in sustainable program development, and collaborate with RAA’s DirectConnect team to conduct outreach that connects youth and adults to sports and recreation opportunities. Four key areas: Program leadership & development; Coach and Volunteer management; Community engagement and athlete recruitment; and Equipment management.


Must-Haves

  • Experience in sports programming, coaching, therapeutic recreation, recreation management, or adaptive sports
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, equity, and inclusive practices in sports
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously and maintain detailed records
  • Related experience pertaining to each of the four key areas
  • Ability to move, load, unload, and haul 1-15 sports chairs (approx. 25 lbs each) and other adaptive sports equipment from a truck or U-Haul to transport from one location to another for programs
  • Demonstratable experience with community relationship-building; ability to coordinate and carry out community meetings, participate in outreach fairs, and recruit participants
  • Commitment to cultivating positive, safe, and empowering environments and adherence to safety protocols

Employment Requirements

  • Successful background checks required.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends, along with weekday hours
  • Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation

Work Hours & Compensation

  • Part-time position; schedule determined in coordination with program needs.
  • Compensation commensurate with experience, $17-22/hour.
  • Flexible scheduling; requires work from home, team meetings (in- person and virtual), and in-person engagement in the community
