Let’s Get Started Connecting Rehab to the Community!

Greetings!  I am happy to be connecting with all of you!  As you learned from the introductory blog Anita posted a couple of weeks ago, my name is Chris Streeter and I am a physical therapist for Rochester Regional Health.  I am very excited about this opportunity to collaborate with Rochester Accessible Adventures and bring in some of my perspectives as both a person who enjoys being active and a physical therapist.

It is not always easy to transfer from rehabilitation back into community life and activities, and sometimes being active seems just too hard!  So I’d like to help by discussing some ideas that might make the transition easier for you.

I am going to kick off with a series of articles that will introduce you to several different models of CYCLES.  My cycling series will demonstrate that with the proper equipment and exercise recommendations, YOU CAN enjoy the benefits of cycling, even if you thought you couldn’t.  Each article will introduce a different piece of equipment: some are powered with legs, some are powered with arms, and some require that you bring a friend!

So, stay tuned as we CONNECT REHAB TO THE COMMUNITY!
